Soon, Google Will Count the Calories in Your Food
Ever wonder just how many calories are in that triple-dip ice cream cone you just documented on Instagram? Wonder no more — Google is working on technology to analyze photos to estimate the caloric value of the foods pictured. Sounds a little crazy, a little magic — and ultimately pretty awesome.
And not just for eaters — researchers would also be keen to get their hands on huge amounts of nutrition data like this. "I have colleagues in epidemiology and public health, and they really want this stuff," said one of the researchers.
